Andy Cohen Slams Aviva Drescher Over Claims She Was Forced To Drink On ‘RHONY’
Andy Cohen set the record straight following claims Bravo producers push Real Housewives star to drink alcohol before filming.
On Sunday, Andy took to Instagram stories to address an article, published by Page Six, titled, “Housewives Cast: “Show drove us to drink’.”
While showing the article in an Instagram Story video, Andy said, “The equivalent of the print version of clickbait is this.”
“This article is so dumb,” he added of the article, which was featured in the New York Post on Saturday, June 16. “It’s a lot of quotes from Aviva Drescher complaining about the show.”
In the article, Aviva, who starred in season five and six of The Real Housewives of New York City, told Page Six that the production team could sometimes go too far with their eagerness to liquor up the cast.
“I told the head producer, ‘I don’t want to do a shot. Can you just fill it with water?’ And they said no,” she claimed. “I was so weak and so intimidated by the production team, and I had just gone through all the negotiations of my contract for the second season and those were demoralizing… I took the shot. I felt tremendous pressure to do it.”

However, Aviva’s claims were quickly disputed by current RHONY star Bethenny Frankel.
“As the person responsible for putting you on Rhony, I take offense to you misrepresenting the truth & saying producers prodded you to drink,” Bethenny tweeted hours after the article was published. “As someone here since day 1 with 13 years of reality tv experience, it is a flat out falsehood.”
Aviva, though, did not change her story when she responded to Bethenny’s tweet.
“I am so happy for you and your experience,” she replied on Twitter. “I was once asked to do a shot with Ramona for a make-up scene (suggested by producers). When I asked producer to fill my shot with water - I was refused and told that I HAD to drink the shot with alcohol. That happened.”
