Inside Week 6: ‘Bachelor’ Shake Up! Nick Viall Breaks Down After Sending Half The Women Home — Find Out Who Made The Cut!
Is this man capable of finding love?
After sending SIX girls home in one episode (three at the rose ceremony, one on a group date, and two on the two-on-one date; The Bachelor wasn’t playing any games) Nick Viall was an emotional mess!
While the start of Nick’s breakdown came after the group date from hell ( That date ended with all the girls in tears because they felt like they were competing for his attention) it was Nick’s two-on-one date that sent him over the "emotional edge."
After Nick let Whitney go (by the way, did anyone know who she was before tonight’s episode?), midway through his two-on-one, Danielle L. thought she was in the clear, and professed that she was falling in love with Nick. However, all the bachelor could do was avoid all eye contact (it got pretty awkward) before he finally admitted that he wasn’t falling for her, and was going to send her home because he knew in his heart she wasn’t the one. #curveball
“Second time I’ve had someone tell me that they’re falling in love with me and knowing that my heart feels differently it’s not a fun feeling,” Nick explained to the cameras while holding back tears. “What do you say to someone that at the beginning of all this, the first thing you thought was ‘how lucky you would be if this was the person who tells you they’re falling in love with you?’ and all your heart is telling you is ‘no.’ Seems messed up."
“Maybe it’s me that can’t reciprocate the same type of love she’s willing and so able to give,” he added.
Let’s just say, at this point, Nick was holding on by a thread, questioning everything, and everyone -- including himself.
With the remaining girls waiting to see who would return from the two-on-one date, they were completely surprised to find out that both Danielle and Whitney went home. This, of course, sent the ladies into quite the frenzy. But, before they could even wrap their heads around what was happening, in walked a very emotional Nick.

“I think by now you know I sent both Whitney and Danielle home,” Nick said to the ladies as he cried profusely. “Danielle, my relationship with her was a relationship I was really optimistic about. Along with you women, when I thought about this all working out she was a part of that equation. But it’s a relationship that just kind of fell flat and I just want to be honest because I came in so optimistic about this whole thing. So I think that after today ended I feel like I kind of hit a new low because I think my biggest fear right now is, ‘is the same thing going to happen with you guys?’”
“I really want this to work out but I want it to be real and I want it to be right. Right now I just feel terrified that this is not going to happen. So, I don’t know if I can keep doing this? I gotta go,” Nick tearfully said before walking out of the room leaving his top six (Corinne, Kristina, Raven, Rachel, Vanessa, and Danielle M.) behind.
And just like that, the episode was over, the girls were in tears, Nick was gone, and for one of the few times this season even Corinne was left speechless.
Until next week!
