Watch: 'RHOD' Star Brandi Redmond Meets Adopted Son For The First Time

Brandi Redmond redefined the idea of “starting the new year off with a bang” when she and her husband adopted a baby boy early this year.

In the latest episode of Real Housewives of Dallas, she revealed that she and her husband spent a long and emotional time trying to conceive, to no avail.

“Last year, we did try for several months to have another child,” she confessed.

However, after a tragic miscarriage and then finding out her fertility was declining, she realized that she might have to explore other options. That’s where best friend and fellow Housewives cast member Stephanie Hollman stepped in. She had the connections to make Brandi's dream come true.

“Before I met my husband I worked in the social work field and I had this really great friend who is over at an adoption agency. He called me telling me that they had the most beautiful baby who needed a home,” Stephanie explained.

And though Brandi only had seven days to make the life-changing decision, for her and her hubby, it was a no-brainer.

"There was really wasn’t any hesitation from Brian. He’s always wanted a baby boy,“ she said. “The timing couldn’t be better for Brian and I.”

While she was excited to welcome the new member of her family, she was also understandably nervous about what came next. “ It makes me nervous. I don’t know if I’m rocking the boat too much. We’ve made every effort to make our marriage stronger and our family stronger, and so I think that this could change things. I just don’t know,” she explained. Viewers will have to wait and see how the new bundle of joy joins the family.

Real Housewives of Dallas airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
