Williams’ outing was a very rare public appearance for the NBC anchor after he revealed back in February that he lied about being on a helicopter that was shot down during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. His appearance on Tuesday has many speculating that he may be prepping to step back into the spotlight following the scandal. However, NBC has yet to announce if Williams will be officially returning to his seat at the Nightly News desk.
