Eddie Redmayne couldn’t contain his excitement when he accepted the Oscar for Best Actor – and it was no different in the press room! From rocking the noteworthy statue in his arms to calling the experience a “wild, weird dream,” the Oscar-winning actor expressed his joy for snagging the award while chatting with the press.

The Theory of Everything star said of when he accepted the award, “It just felt like an extraordinary euphoria really. It’s something I will not forget in a hurry.”

The star perfected the role of Stephen Hawking in the biopic by learning from the physicist, who suffers from ALS, and his family.

“I will certainly go to Cambridge at some point to see Stephen, Jane, Jonathan and the Hawking children,” Eddie explained. “They have been so kind to us the whole way through this process. The responsibility to tell their story truthfully and authentically, we felt it. Their support throughout has been amazing.

So what’s next for the Oscar-winning actor? A new movie!

“It’s an incredibly beautiful and passionate love story about authenticity and bravery,” he said of his newest flick The Danish Girl. “As far as where you go from here, retaining employment!”
