Gene Simmons Reveals The Origins Of His ‘Iconic’ Kiss Makeup
Gene Simmons has never been afraid to stand out. So it’s no surprise that when the lead singer of the band Kiss entered the music scene in the ‘70s, he wanted to do things differently — a lot differently.
“I was sick and tired of guys in ripped jeans and t-shirts looking on the floor and strumming guitar and charging full ticket price,” Gene told OK! exclusively. To ensure their concerts had both talent and visuals, Gene and his three bandmates began wearing black and white makeup, creating an iconic look the band is still known for today.
