Gwen Stefani Talks About Being 'In Competition' With Jennifer Lopez

After kicking off her very first Las Vegas residency this week, Gwen Stefani opened up to Entertainment Tonight about her fierce long-running "competition" with the one and only Jennifer Lopez.

"I did come see Jennifer here," Gwen said of the Planet Hollywood where she's performing, "and I got to go in her backstage dressing room and everything."

That's when she launched into a story about how Prince once told her years ago that she and J.Lo were competing with each other.

"I remember being like, 'What are you talking about?'" she explained. At the time, Gwen was in No Doubt and she thought their music couldn't be more different.

"Interestingly," the pop star continued, "we're the same age and we went through our lives and had kids at the same time and I ended up buying the house she lived in, and now I'm in her dressing room."

Luckily, the two have always been supportive of one another. "I love her so much," Gwen said, adding that she's officially taken over her reign in Las Vegas. "They clear the whole thing out and I feel like I took over the Planet Hollywood."
