The Heat Is On: 'Jersey Shore Family Vacation' Cast Talks Reboot
Another round of "Gym, Tan, Laundry” is back as Jersey Shore Family Vacation premiered last week. The series reboot follows all of its original cast members (minus Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola) as they made their way down to Miami for an updated version of where their lives are now plus a ton of partying, debauchery and more.
Some of the show’s biggest stars (Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Vinnie Guadagnino, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino) spoke with OK! exclusively about the reboot and gave some major dish on what’s to come.
When asked what the major difference was in terms of geographical locations (Jersey vs. Miami), it came down to the sunny skies and pretty ladies for Pauly D. “The weather was nice, beautiful beaches, beautiful women, I like Miami in general,” he said. “It’s more of a vacation, cuz like we're from Jersey so that’s kind of like home for us so Miami is like 'woo', we’re looking around, we’re just on vacation,” exclaimed Vinnie.
The house this time around was a lot nicer from the one that they crashed at in Jersey (amenities included a big backyard that overlooked the water and a huge pool), and Nicole took notice of that immediately. “I feel like we never sit in a house that was so bougey; we were definitely thankful about it.” Mike said it best in regards to the cast paying their dues to get this sort of an upgrade, “We worked ten years to finally get into a mansion.”

One thing that both places definitely have inside is the legendary “smush room,” where Pauly said that he was the one that used it the most but wasn’t alone in his escapades. “I wasn’t the only one who used it, just saying,” he revealed.
When it comes to who has changed the most compared to the original run of the show, Vinnie flat out thinks its Mike. “This guy is like a brand new guy, he’s been sober for two years, pleasant to be around, we love rooming with him, he’s an inspiration, he’s our designated driver, like we never thought we’d love to room with him that much.” Mike followed up with those compliments and reflected on where he was compared to where is now. “I was banned in past seasons from driving. The Situation was not allowed behind the wheel...I wasn’t responsible back then. Now, I’m the designated driver. When we go out, I look out for these guys as well as these guys, they look out for me, so it’s an awesome situation and these guys are my best friends, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The cast goes on to discuss so much more, where Nicole talks about getting over her mom guilt and partying it up while in Miami, how Ronnie Ortiz-Magro being a first-time parent will be second nature for him as he helped raise his two little sisters, why Pauly thinks that Sammi will seriously “regret” not being on the reboot, and how one of the cast members has a major “life change” that happens this season.
