Each day of Oscar Pistorius' murder trial is more difficult than the last for the former athlete. He began his testimony this week, and after a few emotional days of questions from the defense, the prosecution was permitted to hammer at him today.

WATCH: Catch up on yesterday's events in Oscar Pistorius' trial, when he cried so hard the judge had to adjourn.

"You killed her! You shot and killed her. Won't you take responsibility for that?" demanded prosecutor Gerrie Nel. "Say yes, I shot and killed Reeva Steenkamp." Pistorius, in a broken voice, agreed. "I made a mistake." The prosecution kept the intensity up by showing a grisly photo of Steenkamp's head with its gunshot wound. Pistorius and his family members were visibly weepy at the sight of it. "I was there, I don't have to look at a picture," Pistorius said.

Unfortunately for Pistorius, the prosecution isn't done with their cross-examination just yet. "My life is on the line," he said to Nel today, to which he responded, "Reeva doesn't have a life anymore." Tough to argue with that one.

What do you think of the prosecutor's tactics today? Do you think Oscar Pistorius meant to kill Reeva Steenkamp? How will this trial end? Tell us in the comments below or tweet us @OKMagazine.
