Super LUXURIOUS Fyre Festival Deemed A Total SCAM
Ja Rule‘s highy anticipated and model-promoted Fyre Festival, which took place in the Bahamas, advertised itself as a “once in a lifetime luxury” weekend. It was set to headline popular artists like Blink 182, Migos, and Major Lazer, as well as offer gourmet meals cooked by celebrity chefs, and have a celeb-studded crowd consisting of models like Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, and Emily Ratajkowski.
Sounds too good to be true? The amped up party goers — some of which shelled out upwards of $12k for the weekend — were in for a rude awakening when they arrived at the festival grounds, according to RadarOnline. Instead of upscale food, ticket holders were given sub par sandwiches and under-cooked dishes. The tents were completely disheveled, staff members were MIA, and there was barely any electricity to perform living necessities. Even flights out of the island were canceled!
The festival released the following statement, “Fyre Festival set out to provide a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience on the Islands of the Exumas. Due to circumstances out of our control, the physical infrastructure was not in place on time and we are unable to fulfill on that vision safely and enjoyably for our guests.”
“At this time, we are working tirelessly to get flights scheduled and get everyone off of Great Exuma and home safely as quickly as we can,” the organizers continued. “We are working to place everyone on complimentary charters back to Miami today; this process has commenced and the comfort and safety of our guests is our top priority.”
Ja Rule took to Twitter to reassure everyone that they will be refunded and that “I truly apologize as this is NOT MY FAULT… but I’m taking responsibility.”
Now, models like Kendall Jenner who promoted the festival are facing backlash. One Twitter user tweeted, “Kendall Jenner gonna hand these kids a Pepsi and let em know it’s gone be alright. #fyrefestival”
