The top 13 took to the American Idol stage last night to sing songs from their "Favorite Idols" and hopefully secure themselves a spot in the Top 12. And now was the time for them to find out who made it.

Ryan Seacrest began by pulling Stefano Langone, Jacob Lusk and Karen Rodriguez down to the center of the stage. In one of the biggest fakeouts in Idol history, Ryan said, "All of you are safe...except for Karen!" Ouch, Ryan! Karen had to sadly make her way over to the bottom 3 chairs.

Next Ryan called Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart and Ashthon Jones to come down to center of the stage. As he asked Lauren how she felt about last night's show, the 16-year-old got very emotional and admitted that she wasn't happy with her performance. Ryan happily put her mind at ease, she was safe. But, unfortunately, Haley and Ashthon were not. Those two girls made up the rest of the bottom 3.

The stressful results then took a break with some performances from both Adam Lambert and Diddy, before getting back to the matter at hand. Who would be going home? Sadly, it was Ashthon, who was chosen as a wildcard just the week before. But it was announced the judges' save was back!! Would the judges save Ashthon after her repeat performance of Diana Ross' "When You Tell Me That You Love Me"? The answer is No. Ashthon was sent home as we were treated to the new goodbye song of this Idol season: Season 7 winner David Cook's cover of "Don't You Forget About Me."

So now we have our Top 12. Tune in next Wednesday at 8 p.m. as the remaining 6 guys and 6 girls continue to sing for your votes. See you back here next week!
