After the top 12 guys sung their hearts out on Tuesday night, and the top 12 girls gave it their all on Wednesday night, it was finally time to face the hard truths. Who would be chosen for the top 10? And who would be lucky enough to get a wildcard slot?
After a lot of making both the contestants and the audience wait in agony, it was revealed that Scott McCreery, Jacob Lusk, Casey Abrams, Paul McDonald and James Durbin were the top 5 vote getters. As for the girls? Pia Toscano, Lauren Alaina, Thia Megia, Karen Rodriguez and Haley Reinhart made the cut. Then Ryan announced that the judges were going to give a few of the remaining conteestants one last shot to sing for their lives…after the break.
Robbie Rosen, Stefano Langone, Jovany Barreto, Kendra Chantelle, Naimi Adedapo and Ashthon Jones were chosen to give it their all. I was disappointed to see that they didn’t give Tim Halperin or Lauren Turner another shot. Were they worried that they would take out one of their favotites? I hope to see those two somewhere else someday soon, both great talents. After making the audience suffer once again, we were finally told that three wildcards would be chosen making it a Top 13 just like they did in Season 8, my favorite season of Idol. Will this talented season follow suit? Stefano, Naimi and Ashthon were the lucky ones chosen to win those coveted slots!
Who are your favorites? Who were you bummed to see go home and not make the Top 13? Tune in next Wednesday at 8 p.m. to see your Idols battle it out! This is getting exciting!
