Every week, reality star, sports lover, mom and former Playboy bunny Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett will check in with OK! as she learns how to shake it on the dance floor on Dancing With the Stars! Aided by her pro partner Louie Van Amstel, Kendra has been ready to rumba in no time!
My dance was a lot different this week so because of that there were a lot of changes. Even just dancing in a different length dress was different. I think I was more confident in how I held my body, I’m starting to get used to dancing technique more. But I was still nervous! I don’t think I will ever not be nervous in front of a crowd but this week was a little better just because I knew what to expect a little but more.
The song choice last night was good for the dance we did! I have a very different taste in music though from a lot of pop stuff. I like old school music so it’s been cool getting to not only learn new dances but new music also! We’re rehearsing ALL THE TIME! Haha! Usually about 3-4 hours a day sometimes more sometimes less. My back has been hurting a lot but it has since pregnancy. My son was nine and a halfpounds and I’m a small girl so it’s been having problems just from there. Just some bumps and bruises but nothing serious at all.
I haven’t really had to change my diet — I’m just eating healthy, maybe a little more protein. I’m still taking Ab Cuts which has been helping a lot too. My DWTS diet is really just eating whenever you get a minute to, haha! Hanks surprises me with baby Hank at rehearsal him all the time which is so fun. He comes to rehearsals and I also teach him all the dance moves at home. Hanks’ been pampering me since I’ve been working so hard — lots of massages! And he tries to schedule me massages whenever I get a minute off. He’s been great. He’s been so great taking care of the baby too. It’s like I’m in my season now! He’s usually in his season but now I’m in mine, haha!
The competition is fierce! Everyone is improving a lot. It’s crazy! Honestly everyone has improved so much, it’s really anybody’s win at this point! Louis has been like a drill sergeant! But all of the coaches are, they have to be. It’s their job to push us to be the best we can and to learn the most we can. There are times that I get really frustrated and just wish he would ease up but that’s not what he’s there to do! He’s there to get the best performance out of me that he can and he’s doing that for sure.
For tonight’s elimination, I’m really nervous because of what I said earlier — it’s ANYBODY’S win which also means it’s anybody’s loss. I have no idea who it’s going to be! It’s our first elimination so we’ll see! I’m nervous. I hope “Psycho” Mike and Lacey stay! They’re great, and I love hanging out with Lacey so I would hate to see them go.
Cross your fingers for me!
