Last night, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong debuted her new tell-all book Hiding from Reality: My Story of Love, Loss, and Finding the Courage Within at a book signing in L.A. Taylor exclusively spoke to OK! about how “hard” it was to write and her reactions to people like co-star Brandi Glanville criticizing Taylor for speaking out too soon after her husband's suicide.

“Bearing your soul to people is really hard,” Taylor gushed to OK! at Barnes & Noble at The Grove, and added, “I wanted it to be really raw and honest.”

Taylor’s estranged husband committed suicide in August of last year and some of her Bravo castmates, like Brandi, have commented on the book coming out too shortly after the tragedy, but the doting mom to daughter Kennedy Armstrong disagrees.

“Unfortunately, there are so many people out there that are living in dangerous situations that I really felt like it was important enough for me to get this story out there and take the criticism that comes with it,” Taylor, who is involved with the 1736 Crisis Center, explained to OK! of why she decided to come out with her story sooner rather then later. “I just didn’t feel like waiting was necessary. Also, I didn’t want to wait until I had euphoric recall and forgetting about all of the things that had happened.”

Fellow Real Housewife Kyle Richards, who came out to support Taylor at the signing, also spoke to OK! about Taylor deciding to share her story of domestic abuse.

“I can see where some people would say that, but I think it’s not fair to judge unless you have walked in her shoes,” Kyle exclusively told OK! on Wednesday. “She is a single mom now and I think that she also can help a lot of other people by getting her story out there, so I don’t think its fair to judge.”

Dealing with criticism regarding her book is one thing, but how does Taylor cope with other rumors out there that she is dating a married man?

“Oh, it’s just ridiculous,” Taylor laughed to OK! of allegation she is having an affair with one of her lawyers. “I spent Valentine’s Day with my little girl and it was just beautiful for us. I am so focused on us right now and then to have this ridiculous stuff coming out in the press, is just frustrating for us, but what are you going to do? It's what I signed up for.”

With all that she has endured, can we expect to see Taylor on another season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? “There is a lot changing in my life right now and I think that people need to see what that looks like as I grow and get stronger, so I think that would be interesting!”
