It’s been one week since Jill and Derick Dillard announced the shocking murder of their close friend in their temporary home of El Salvador.  While The Dillards have kept his name under wraps, RadarOnline.com recently revealed the Counting On stars' late friend’s identity: Salvadorian father and grandfather German Daniel Serrano Orellana.

German, who according to the Dillard’s, was kidnapped, killed, and later discovered by his family in a nearby river, worked alongside the religious couple for SOS Ministries, a Christian non-profit that facilitates mission trips, his brother, Geovani, confirmed to Radar.

“We are bad, but we must continue struggling with the help of God,” Geovani said in Spanish, before adding that the death was gang-related. Sadly though, Geovani doesn’t believe that cops are investigating his brother’s homicide.

As OK! previously reported, Jill (who is pregnant with her second child), Derick, and their 2-year-old son, Israelleft the country just days after German’s murder, ending their three-month-long mission trip.
