LATEST: While Joan Rivers remains in a medically-induced coma, daughter Melissa Rivers released a new statement Sunday, August 31, about her mother's condition.
"Thank you for your continued love and support," she said. "We are keeping our fingers crossed."
UPDATE: As of 12:30pm ET Thursday, Joan Rivers is now in stable condition at the hospital. Ken Baker of E! News tweeted out the news (since of course E! is home to Joan's show, Fashion Police):

Joan was undergoing a throat procedure—most likely on her vocal chords—at a clinic on the Upper East Side of New York when she suddenly stopped breathing. An emergency call was made to the hospital around 9:30 am ET, at which point Joan was then rushed to the hospital. Joan's daughter Melissa is rumored to be on her way to NYC be with her mom. We'll update you as soon as we get more details!
