Forget ex-boyfriends—the target of Taylor Swift's new song “Bad Blood” appears to be former galpal Katy Perry!
In a recent interview, the pop princess revealed that an unnamed musical artist was the source of her inspiration. “For years, I never knew if we were friends or not,” explained Taylor. “Then she did something so horrible I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour.”

As news spread of Taylor’s mysterious rival, Katy was quick to tweet, “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing,” referencing the lead—blonde—character from Mean Girls in a likely jab at Taylor.

As it turns out, a 2013 interview with backup dancer Lockhart Brownlie all but confirms the conflict, as he admitted he and two other dancers left Taylor six months into her Red tour to join Katy on her Prismatic tour. “Katy is like family to us, so we were like, ‘Absolutely,’ ” said Lockhart, who had been part of Katy’s 2011 tour. “We weren’t really dancing on Taylor’s tour anyway, so I got a little bored,” he added. And, despite Taylor’s denial, there is a guy in the drama: Katy dated John Mayer for two years after he dumped Taylor!
