2What is going on here? Loretta Lynn revealed that she got married to singer Kid Rock on August 30. “What a weekend! My Ernie & Crystal renewed their vows this week,” she began on Instagram, referring to her son Ernie and his wife, Crystal. “It was beautiful and everything it should be. Marriage isn’t always easy — heck it’s not even always pretty, but love holds you together and you push through the bad days to enjoy the good ones. I’m so proud of them and wish them years of happiness.”
The country singer, 88, continued telling her fans that “things got crazy,” and she decided to get hitched to the 49-year-old rock star. “Well, the preacher was already there so we had some fun with it. Sorry girls, he’s taken now!” she captioned a slew of photos with Kid Rock putting a ring on her hand. #gottahavesomefun #88andfeelingggreat #laugh #tabloidfodder #cougar @lorettalynnranchofficial.”
For his part, the ‘All Summer Long’ crooner shared a snapshot of himself getting down on one knee and holding hands with Lynn. “Always so much fun and such an honor to be with my favorite gal (and part time wife) Loretta!” he wrote. “Crystal and Ernie and the rest of the family put on a beautiful event with so many great friends. They definitely caught me off guard, and I am glad they did! It was a much-needed ray of light in these trying times. I hope it put a smile on everyone’s face as big as mine and LL’s! -Kid Rock.”

However, the ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’ singer revealed that their relationship wasn’t actually legit, and it was all just for fun. “Well, it didn’t last long, y’all but it sure was fun!” she captioned a photo of herself with Kid Rock. “I guess I better get on here and let y’all know that it was just a joke — @kidrock and I didn’t get married over the weekend, but we had a blast. #rockon #relaxoutthere #easymediafolks #calmdown #funtimes #whatwillshedonext #its2020soyouneverknow #iputthispictureaway.”
Needless to say, fans were upset that Lynn and Kid Rock didn't make things official. One person wrote, "Shoot! I was rooting for y’all," while another echoed, "Well you know he will always chose YOU!!! There isn’t a woman around can live up to you!!!" A third user added, "Well, he would of been a lucky man."
