The 'N Syncer was joking when he said he told E! News he was married earlier this week, his rep Ken Sunshine says.
"By saying he was married in Vegas, it was a way to get free drinks," Ken says. "He never really got married. That's why there's no record of it."
A search through the Clark County marriage license bureau turned up zilch results for weddings between a James Lance Bass and his unidentified female friend from 1974 to 2007, causing Lance to come clean about his remarks.

The 28-year-old, who's currently promoting his memoir, Out of Sync, said on Wednesday that he with his pal "in the heat of the moment" for "like five minutes."
