Although navigating the trials and tribulations of being a teenager may be brutal for pop newcomer Olivia Rodrigo, this year's Grammy Awards were seemingly far from it. The star walked away with three different awards on Sunday, April 3 — Best Pop Solo Performance for her song "Drivers License," Best Pop Vocal Album for her debut album SOUR and the highly-coveted title of 2022's Best New Artist. "This is my biggest dream come true," Rodrigo said during her acceptance speech for the latter award.
But even as she swept several award categories and blew audiences away with a live performance of her newly-minted Grammy-winning track, our beauty editors here at OK! could not stop thinking about how the brunette bombshell's stunning waves stayed so shiny and bouncy throughout the evening. Celebrity hairstylist Clayton Hawkins recently shared how he achieved the 19-year-old's soft, shiny hairstyle — one he said was designed to "complement the angles" of the singer's winged eyeliner and "edgy" Vivienne Westwood nude illusion gown.
OK! is using the celeb hair guru's step-by-step tutorial of how to achieve the coveted Grammys look. Keep scrolling to shop the exact — and affordable —hair products Hawkins used, and get the award show-worthy luscious locks for yourself!

Prepping The Hair
First, Hawkins spritzed Dove's Hair Therapy 7-in-1 Miracle Mist — his "fave pre-blow dry spray" — into Rodrigo's damp hair. Then, he detangled the songwriter's strands with Tangle Teezer's The Ultimate Detangler brush, a product he dubbed his "go-to" for achieving "glossy, frizz-free hair."

Blow Out & Set With Rollers
Once the Grammy-winner's hair was prepped and ready to go, Hawkins blow-dried the star's long locks before dividing the hair among five strategically-placed velcro rollers. Placing one roller on the "mohawk" section of the singer’s head and two rollers on each side, the celebrity hairstylist noted this configuration helps create "lasting volume."

Curling The Hair
After setting the hair, the Los Angeles-native began crafting her "cascading curls." "I parted her hair down the center, and using tiny sections, I curled her hair with a 1.25 inch curling iron," he explained. "Once it was all curled, I sprayed a generous amount of Dove Extra Hold Hairspray on the curls to lock the shape in while she finished glam and getting ready."
Dove's Style+Care Extra Hold Hairspray retails for $5.99 at bedbathandbeyond.com.
Last-Minute Touches
Before sending Rodrigo off to the red carpet, Hawkins brushed her curls into soft, shiny waves with Tangle Teezer's The Ultimate Styler brush. He then sprayed a "generous amount" of Dove’s Hair Therapy Brilliant Gloss & Repair Serum onto her hair, focusing on "her mid-shaft to ends for the ultimate shine."
"The result is a gorgeous, glossy sheen that catches the light on the carpet," Hawkins exclaimed of the finished look.
