Dec. 6 2009, Published 3:18 p.m. ET
Although many reports have surfaced this weekend regarding Alexa Ray Joel’s possible suicide attempt and hospitalization, OK! exclusively spoke with the New York Police Department regarding the proceedings of the emergency phone call made at the 23-year-old’s Manhattan apartment on Saturday afternoon.
“At 12:24 hours today, we responded to 19 Bethune Street on a 911 call for an aided case…EMS transported her to St. Vincent's hospital,” Detective Sessa of the NYPD exclusively revealed to OK! concerning the daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley's possible drug overdose.
The phone call was allegedly made by Joel’s roommate as Detective Sessa confirms to OK!, “It was a female caller who said there was a woman there having difficulty breathing.”
For those wondering if access to the phone call will be available, Sessa tells OK! that, “The 911 call will not be released.”
And while the Detective spoke thoroughly about the events that took place at the location of the emergency call, he could not verify Alexa’s name seeing as though that information remains confidential in suicide cases according to NYPD policy.
