Country music’s royal couples have never had it easy: Johnny and June Carter Cash had blowout fights, and George Jones and Tammy Wynette’s union ended in divorce. But through all the rumors about partying and cheating, these down-home stars are working to save their marriage. Sources say that the main problem is a familiar one: too much time apart. Both superstars are in the middle of lengthy tours and have just been working too hard to connect with each other. “They can go days without speaking,” says a source. “They’ll send a couple of texts, but that’s all they have time for. It’s taking a toll on the marriage.”

It doesn’t help that Blake, 38, is a notorious flirt—and was even rumored to have had an affair with then 25-year-old singer Cady Groves last year. The source says Miranda, 30, gets so jealous that she even asks some tour staff to keep an eye on her husband. But things may settle for the volatile pair after Oct. 5, when Miranda plays her final date in Las Vegas and Blake finishes his tour in L.A., where the new season of The Voice will be in full swing. The source says Miranda will likely travel to be by her husband’s side. “She’s a lot better about finding me if I’m stuck in L.A.,” Blake has said. “She’ll always fly to me instead of going home.” A for effort, Miranda!
