‘Life is Good’ for Drake as the proud papa posted a photo of his 2-year-old son, Adonis, leaving to go to school via Instagram on Wednesday, September 9.
The young academic — who will be turning three on October 11 — rolled up to school in an all-black ensemble, which consisted of black sweatpants with red print, a black hoodie with stars, and matching black sneakers. “First Day Of School … The World Is Yours kid,” the singer, 33, captioned the adorable snapshot of his kiddo.
Drake’s celebrity friends immediately took to the comments section to share their good vibes with Adonis. Chance The Rapper commented two 100 emojis, while 21 Savage wrote, “Already got a chauffeur,” followed by a goat emoji. Quavo wrote, “LIL CHAMP, ” and Diddy added, “family first.”
Drake’s baby mama, Sophie Brussaux, also celebrated the big day by uploading a snapshot of herself holding hands with her son. “Mom is proud of her big boy (part time little koala),” the caption — which was originally written in French — read.
The Grammy winner first posted Adonis — whom he shares with Brussaux, 31 — on social media back in March. Prior to Adonis’s debut, the Canada native only shared his son’s artwork and Father’s Day gifts and would not show his face to his millions of followers.
However, Drake later changed his tune about showing off his child to the world. “It was great to just share that with the world,” he said told Lil Wayne on his Apple Music show, Young Money Radio with Lil Wayne, in May. “I just woke up one morning and I was like, you know what? This is just something that I want to do. I want to be able to go places with my son and share memories with my son. I don’t want to feel like just because of a life choice I made to be a ‘celebrity’ that I got to make everybody live under this blanket … I just wanted to free myself of that.”
Since then, the ‘God’s Plan’ singer hasn’t been shy about sharing snapshots of Adonis on the ‘gram. In honor of Father’s Day, Drake posted a photo of his son wearing long-sleeve pajamas in bed. “Happy Fathers Day to all the real g’z handling business,” he wrote.
After rumors went around that Drake was a father, he finally confirmed the news when his Scorpion album was released in June 2018. The world went crazy when the singer rapped about being a single father in ‘March 14’ and referenced Adonis again in his ‘Emotionless’ song. “I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world/ I was hiding the world from my kid,” Drake sings. The former Degrassi star also mentioned his son in ‘8 Out Of 10’ when he rapped, “Kiss my son on the forehead, then kiss your ass goodbye / As luck would have it / I’ve settled into my role as the good guy.”
It seems Adonis is ready to take on the world as he heads off to school. Good luck, little man!
