June 17 2014, Published 4:43 p.m. ET
Just six months after revealing the secret reason she wouldn’t be returning to The Real Housewives of Orange County — she wanted to try for another baby — Lydia McLaughlin’s wish has come true! Already the mother of two adorable boys, Stirling, 5, and Maverick, 3, with her husband, Doug, the stunning Canadian entrepreneur, 33, was quick to win over viewers with her sunny outlook during her season on the Bravo series. Now Lydia is thrilled to dish on family life and the exciting new details of her third pregnancy, starting with a big reveal!
OK!: So are you expecting a boy or girl?
Lydia McLaughlin: We’re having another boy! He’s due on Nov. 11. The whole family found out together.
OK!: Congratulations! Are the boys excited to be big brothers?
LM: My sons had actually been praying for a sister, so after hearing the doctor’s news, Stirling said, ‘‘Mommy, I guess I’m going to have to wish for a girl again on my next birthday.” We were like, “No, no, no! We’re done with kids.” His birthday wish in February was actually for another baby and I found out I was expecting a few days later, so I feel like this pregnancy is because of him.

OK!: You were open about hoping for a girl this time around. Was it at all upsetting to find out that you’ll be surrounded by men for the rest of your life?
LM: No, I actually surprised myself, because even though I told friends I wanted a daughter, as soon as you find out you’re having a healthy baby, the gender doesn’t matter and you just get excited. I wouldn’t trade my boys for anything. We’re going to raise three great little gentleman, and the world needs more gentlemen.
OK!: And it must be nice to be the queen of the castle!
LM: Yes, even our dog is a boy! I’m such a girly girl. I love tutus and painting nails, and thankfully my boys are pretty into it. They want me to try on dresses for them every night!
OK!: Have you chosen a name yet?
LM: Yes, we’re going with Roman, which represents my Italian roots. Plus, we have Stirling and Maverick, so we couldn’t exactly go with a simple name like John for the third one.

OK!: Have you had any sickness or challenging moments during this pregnancy so far?
LM: The first trimester was tough. I just wanted to spend it sleeping in bed, which is so unlike me. But now that I’m in my second trimester, I’m back to feeling like myself. I’ve been able to start my workout routine again, and we have a few family trips lined up. I’m going to be entering my third trimester in a bikini on the Amalfi coast in Italy!
OK!: Any crazy cravings?
LM: All I wanted to eat were milkshakes and cheeseburgers in my first two pregnancies, and now my only weird craving is The Cheesecake Factory Cobb salad. The restaurant here actually has a drive-thru, so I stop to get it at least once a week.
OK! News: What the heck happened on The Bachelorette last night?
OK!: How have you managed to stay in such amazing shape?
LM: I’ve continued to go to my regular exercise classes but just do the moves in moderation. Working out is good for me mentally and physically, so it’s important for me to continue my routine because pregnancy can make me a little nuts!
OK!: You run several businesses and a magazine, and you’re writing a memoir. Do you plan on taking a break once the baby arrives?
LM: No. My book is going to be released later this year, right around Roman’s due date, or in early 2015, so he’ll be coming on the book tour with us. I love my work and feel like it gives me a lot of energy. If I didn’t have that outlet, I’d probably just sit at home, thinking, “Oh, my gosh, I’m pregnant. How many days do I have left?”
OK!: Have you been watching the current season of RHOC?
LM: I haven’t seen an episode. I didn’t watch the show before I was on it, so I haven’t watched it after. I still see Gretchen and Alexis, though. We’ve remained friends. Alexis and I were actually workout buddies before this pregnancy, and we’ve continued to go to classes together. There are aspects of the show that I miss. Who knows what the future holds? That door definitely hasn’t closed.
