2012 BAFTA Award Winners — 'The Artist' Cleans Up!

Although the 2012 Grammy Awards were the highlight last night, across the pond celebrities were singing a different tune. Last night the 2012 British Academy Film Awards were held!
Better known as the BAFTAs, they're Britain's equivalent to the Oscars. As countless celebs such as George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Jessica Chastain and Penelope Cruz braved the London cold to dazzle the red carpet, a few movies made headlines of their own!OK! The black-and-white film also garnered a win for Jean Dujardin in the male acting category. Jean stated, "It's a simple story. It's a love story. It's universal. And there's a cute dog."Considering the BAFTAs are often a predictor of our own Oscar night, maybe The Artist's big prizes will be an indicator of what's to come two weeks from now? It's been nominated for 10 Academy Awards and has already won three Golden Globes.OK! Meryl Streep was named Best Actress for her role as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady.
