'The Artist,' 'Hugo' & 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' Lead BAFTA Nominations!

The British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) have announced their 2012 nominees! In the lead with a total of 12 nominations is The Artist, followed by Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy with 11 and then Hugo with nine. Also nominated was Drive, The Help, The Descendants, as well as the casts of Bridesmaids, Moneyball and Shame.

Bridesmaids, The Iron Lady and Midnight in Paris got nominations for Original Screenplay, while The Ides of March, The Help, Moneyball, The Descendants and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy for Adapted Screenplay.
In the Lead Actor category, Brad Pitt received a nod for Moneyball, as did George Clooney for The Descendants, Gary Oldman for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Jean Dujardin for The Artist and Michael Fassbender in Shame.

Michelle Williams is nominated in the Lead Actress category for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, along with Meryl Streep for The Iron Lady, Tilda Swinton for We Need to Talk About Kevin, Berenice Bejo for The Artist, and Viola Davis for The Help.
