ABC Responds to Chris Brown Incident: "We Ask Questions That Are Relevant"

Robin Roberts has the full support of ABC News after her interview with Chris Brown on Good Morning America went wrong on Tuesday.

Robin reportedly upset Chris with questions about his alleged assault of his former girlfriend Rihanna.

"As always, we ask questions that are relevant and newsworthy, and that's what we did in this interview with Mr. Brown,” an ABC News spokesperson said in a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter).

“I think I'm past that in my life," Chris said when asked about the incident with Rihanna. "Today's the album day, so that's what I'm focused on.”

But Robin mentioned the incident again and Chris said, “I think today's the ALBUM day so that's what I'm focused on.”

His new album, by the way, is titled F.A.M.E.

Chris completed his interview and performance on GMA, but ABC reports he stormed off stage immediately after and smashed a mirror in his dressing room.

Chris is currently serving five years probation after being convicted of felony assault against Rihanna.
