Jack Donaghy of 30 Rock may be gone forever, but here’s something that may help: Alec Baldwin is getting his own talk show.

It’ll be on MSNBC on Friday nights at 10pm, and the show will be called Up Late with Alec Baldwin. It debuts in October, which is delightfully soon! “He’s got such passion for ideas and what’s going on in the world,” said Phil Griffin, the president of MSNBC. “He’s going to be a great addition to our line-up.”

Alec has already proved he’s got the interviewing chops with his podcast, where he’s chatted with funny people like Lena Dunham and Chris Rock. The show will focus on currents events and culture.

What do you think of Alec’s new gig? Will it help soothe the 30 Rock ache? Does he seem like he would be a good TV host? Tell us in the comments below or tweet us @OKMagazine.
