Amanda Bynes is "Avoiding Lindsay Lohan" in NYC

At first glance it may appear the hard-partying duo would have a raucous time hanging (and not driving) in the Big Apple, but the Nickelodeon star is reportedly avoiding the Mean Girls actress like the plague during her stay in the city.

"Amanda had contemplated staying at the Dream Hotel, but when she was told that Lindsay had been hanging out there, and it had been the scene of her most recent arrest, she crossed it off her list and is instead staying with some friends," a source told RadarOnline.com.

She was none too pleased to read Lindsay's judgmental Tweets about her latest round of driving problems and loathes being compared to her, saying that LiLo is a much bigger menace to society than she could ever be.

"Amanda knows the press would go into a feeding frenzy if she and Lindsay were in the same place, so she is calling ahead to restaurants and stores to make sure that Lindsay isn't there," the source continued. "Amanda just wants nothing to do with Lindsay and doesn't know why she was commenting on her legal troubles when Lindsay is no saint herself."

Meanwhile, Amanda plans to move to the East Coast full time and start a career as a fashion designer. Seeing as she and driving don't get along all too well as of late, she also likes the fact NYC relies on public transportation and taxi cabs.

"She thinks she can live a more normal life on the East Coast and won't be hounded by the paps," a source confirmed.

While Amanda has a slew of court dates ahead, she's hoping to escape to NYC and is "hopeful" she won't have to attend any of them.
