'American Idol' Winner Kris Allen Reveals Details About Upcoming Sophomore Album

American Idol winner Kris Allen has been working on his sophomore album throughout the past year and has finally revealed details about its release.
In a sneak peek of a new video interview with Clevver News, the singer reveals that the first single off the new record will be released in late February, with the album hitting stores in late May or early June. We hope to see Kris promote it on upcoming episode of American Idol now that new season has kicked off!

In regard to what the single will be, Kris reveals, "Talking to the label and the management, we have an idea of what it could be and what people are really excited about."
While working on his second album, Kris has also continued to focus on charity endeavors. While he continues to work with music organizations like the Music Empowers Foundation, Kris has now partnered up with DonorsChoose.org to raise money for teachers.

Kris' wife, Katy, is a a drama teacher at an Arkansas high school. "She loves her job, but she often talks about the challenges," Kris tells USA Today. "She'd love to take her students to see a play but can't afford to. It's hard for teachers to do these kinds of things nowadays because schools don't get enough funding."

Kris will be performing at The Mint in L.A. on Feb. 9. Maybe fans will get to hear a preview of his new music.
