Time to bust a move as the second season of America’s Best Dance Crew returns!

I wanted to find just what it would take to beat the high-flying, stunt-filled JabbaWockeeZ, who took the crown last season. So I rang up resident judge JC Chasez for his expert take.

“After the exposure from the first season, I think the crews came a little bit more prepared for the audition process," JC shared. “Which is good. We’re presenting more challenges now.”

Care to elaborate? “Last year, you know, we made some of the crews perform certain Broadway steps and things like that. We’ll have a couple curve balls like that this year as well.”

Okay, so JC isn’t spilling. But he did fill me in on whether his former boy band *NSYNC would follow in the footsteps of the recently reunited New Kids on the Block.

“No, no,” JC declares. “I’m happy doing what I’m doing right know, I know Justin Timberlake’s happy doing what he’s doing … everybody’s really enjoying their life right now. It’s a fond memory for us.”

Come on, JC! That would be the hottest tix in town! “I know it sounds stupid, but we never did it for the money,” he said. “We did it because we loved it when we were living five of us in the same house with no record deal, and we all had the same vision. Then we got to a point where we all wanted to try different things. So we all had to go and do what inspired us individually.”

Yeah, you do have to follow your dreams, just like the new crews hitting the dance floor for their fame and fortune. Best of luck!

America’s Best Dance Crew, season two, premieres Thursday, June 19 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
