An inside source dished to Deadline Hollywood (via Reuters), "It's an old-fashioned Western specifically designed for a 63 year-old broken-down guy with a moral decision...We always needed an iconic figure for it."
The executive who wished to remain anonymous said the Arnold is going to star in the movie, this on the heels of the actor-turned governor-turned actor again was stopping talks for a new Terminator movie and other projects to focus on his personal life.

OK! NEWS: MARIA SHRIVER OFFERED MILLIONS TO WRITE TELL-ALL BOOK?
Prior to the scandal breaking that he fathered a child out of wedlock with his housekeeper, Arnold was working on a movie, Cry Macho (it's currently on hold). He was also going to be the voice of a superhero leading a double life for a TV comic book style series, The Governator. Needless to say, the latter project was shelved.
The Last Stand is expected to be released in 2012.
