Amy Adams to Play Janis Joplin in New Biopic

A Janis Joplin biopic is an idea that's been floating around the entertainment stratosphere for what seems like eons.

Today it was revealed that Amy Adams is the latest Hollywood actress tapped to play the troubled singer in a brand new biopic.
Although no contracts have officially been signed, Lee Daniels (Precious) is in talks to direct the feature film tentatively titled, Get it While You Can, with an estimated 2013 release date.
Janis rose to popularity in the 1960s due to prolific and powerful anthems like Piece of my Heart, and particularly poignant renditions of classics like Me and Bobby McGee and Summertime.
