Andre Benjamin aka Andre 3000 has signed on to play legendary Jimi Hendrix in an upcoming biopic, All is By My Side, set to begin filming in Dublin and Wicklow, Ireland, at the end of the month.

The movie is reported to take place in 1966 and 1967 England, when Jimi was recording his monster hit album, Are You Experienced. According to the Irish Film and Television Network, the shoot will last six weeks.

Andre 3000 has dabbled in acting, starring in flicks such as Idlewood, Semi-Pro and Four Brothers. He's also one half of the famous Atlanta hip-hop group, Outkast, who took home several Grammys for their albums Stankonia and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
