OK! Exclusive: DWTS Competitor Andy Grammer Dishes On His Dancing Skills And Who He Thinks Is His Biggest Competition!
He’s ready for anything! That’s Andy Grammer’s attitude as he begins training for Dancing With The Stars. The “Honey, I’m Good” singer is looking forward to perfecting his dance skills on ABC's popular celebrity dance-competition show. “It’s definitely an intense schedule and serious workout!” Andy told OKMagazine.com exclusively. But if he can handle performing with Taylor Swift to a sold out crowd, Andy can handle anything!
OK!: What are you most excited about regarding this new experience?
AG: I’m excited to be a part of something so different. I’m dedicating this whole season to mom who passed away about six years ago. It’s nice to feel like you’re doing something in her honor … to feel close to her in some way.

OK!: Who do you think is your biggest competition?
AG: Having not seen anyone dance yet I would say that Bindi Irwin is super likable. She’s so sweet. She and Derek Hough will be great together.
OK!: How has practicing been? What are the vibes between you and your partner like?
AG: Allison Holker is awesome. So I’m still on tour right now. I’m hitting a bunch of shows all over the country and she’s flying out to shows so we rehearse during the day while my band is sound checking and then I play at night. She’s been really fun to get to know as we travel. It’s been a really fun experience so far.

OK!: How will you balance your music/performing/song-writing as you train and dance on the show?
AG: It’s definitely an intense schedule—to do a 6-hour rehearsal and then go play a show at night. It’s super intense but also really nice because you get to do something you’re terrible at all day long and then to get to do something you’re great at, at night. Pick yourself back up after a long day of sucking.
OK!: Are you ready for the outfits?
AG: The outfits are the scariest part! Who knows how I’m actually going to be ... my dancing skills are weak but I’m a competitive guy and pretty physical. I’ve done a lot of high school sports. But dancing is a very, very different thing.
Season 21 of Dancing with the Stars premieres on ABC Monday, Sept. 14 8|7c. Make sure to vote for Andy here and check out his Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook page!
