Angelina Jolie: I'd Like to be James Bond

Angelina Jolie has played spies, hitwomen and adventuresses but there's one action role she'd love to steal — James Bond.
In fact, Angie jokingly calls Salt her James Bond film because when she was approached years ago about playing one of 007's babes, she replied: "No, thank you, but I'd like to be Bond," reports the Vancouver Sun.

However, Hollywood execs remembered that comment, and when Salt surfaced, the producers called her and said, "Maybe we've found your Bond."
Angelina, who wowed Comic-Con in San Diego in a skin-tight leather biker jacket and pencil skirt, admits for all she enjoys serious acting, she also wants her audience to have fun.

"I also love entertaining and the simple pleasure of that, so I don't start to take everything too seriously," she says.
"I've been lucky to go back and forth between action and drama, and it's more where I am emotionally. Sometimes, after doing something like Changeling, where you're so emotionally drained, it's important to do something that gets you out of yourself.

OK! NEWS: ANGELINA JOLIE IS "TOTALLY UNAFRAID"
"I'd just had babies and I'd been at home for a year and a half when I decided to do Salt. I knew it would be good for me to jump around and get active after all that time."
But forget talk that she's planning to quit acting. "I'd just do less at some point," she says. "I have a few more stories I'd like to tell, but I can imagine I'll do less as my kids grow up."

So what's the deal with the rumored movie based on the life of Cleopatra? "I haven't done an historical epic of that nature, and she's always been fascinating to me because as her story has been done big, it's never been done accurately."
But there's one genre Angelina plans to leave well alone — comedy. "I don't think I'm very funny. I'll leave that to the other ladies."
