Even if you haven’t read Dan Brown’s novels uncovering supposed secrets of the Roman Catholic Church, you’ll find this movie exciting and suspenseful. More intriguing than its predecessor, The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons follows Professor Langdon (Hanks) after he’s called in to solve the kidnapping of four Cardinals. The convoluted plot offers enough twists and turns to keep the audience guessing throughout — and McGregor is an excellent addition to the mix as the pope’s right hand.
