What could make Rihanna's big night at the American Music Awards even better? Being presented the first-ever Icon Award by her very own mother.

After a video about her journey, a beautiful performance by the lady herself, and a recorded message from Jay-z , it didn't seem like the presentation of Rihanna's award could be more special. But the only person who can upstage Jay? Mrs. Fenty, Rihanna's mother. She carried her daughter's award out on stage and gave a completely adorable speech about the long journey Rihanna's been on in her career and how proud she is of her. Her Barbadian accent was the icing on the cake of cute.

Rihanna responded by saying she's no good at making speeches, but we beg to differ! She said that her mom was always tolerant of her "annoying little husky man voice" singing around the house all the time, and noted that she can't believe that she won this award at 25. 25! It's unbelievable to us, too. We love her, but we're all about Mama Fenty now. She quickly became a big trending topic of the night, and when Justin Timberlake won the next award, he couldn't help but talk about her, too (and imitate the accent)!
