Prince William and Kate are over the moon now that their son has arrived, but the next few weeks will mean lots of royal engagements and adjustments for the brand new parents and their baby.

Royal protocol dictates the newest monarch's arrival was marked by uniformed members of the royal artillery companies, who fired 41 blanks from six field guns in Green Park, not far from Buckingham Palace.

Some popular guesses include Alexander, Louis and Henry. Whatever it will be, protocol dictates that the couple is almost certain to choose a name that has been passed down in the Royal Family for generations.

"This is a very emotional, such a special time," says Kate. "I think every parent knows how this feels."
