It's a rare thing in life — let alone among celebrities — when someone's ex has something nice to say about them. So it came as a surprise on Sunday when Sophie Monk, who had recently been engaged to Good Charlotte's Benji Madden, came out to defend her former flame against nasty rumors that he'd left her for new gal-pal Paris Hilton.
"Let me make this as plain as possible," read a statement released by the Aussie actress to Australia's Herald Sun. "Benji did not leave me for Paris."

The statement goes on to say that Sophie and the Good Charlotte guitarist ended their relationship on good terms. "We both decided, as adults, our relationship had run its course and decided to move on. I feel no animosity towards Benji and Paris at all and am very happy with life at the moment.''
