Just when his engagement to Leighton Meester reminded us how much we missed him, Adam Brody is returning to television! He'll have a guest role on New Girl, which will air in early 2014.

According to TVLine, Adam will play an ex-boyfriend of Jess' (Zooey Deschanel), who is now a very sensitive stay-at-home dad. This sounds pretty much like a continuation of his mushy, sweet icon role of Seth Cohen from The OC, so we are extremely down with that. Additionally, Zooey somewhat resembles Leighton, so it can help us imagine what that coupling is like, since they're pretty low key and never get photographed out.
