Britney Spears to Be Free from Dad?
July 21 2009, Published 3:05 p.m. ET
Britney Spears has been under the conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears for a year and a half, and now reports indicate she's finally ready to be on her own.
TMZ cites sources who say dad Jamie will ask the court to look at the terms of the conservatorship after the tour ends in November. Although he can't ask the judge to simply end it, he can ask him to review it, and he can then decide if Britney can be in control of her own life again.

One reason the conservatorship might've stayed in place so long at all is the tour -- the judge promised various vendors involved that it would remain in effect for the tour's duration.
