Brittany Murphy's Cause of Death Released

According to the L.A. County Coroner, the cause of death of actress Brittany Murphy has been determined.

Brittany's death was caused by community-acquired pneumonia, iron deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication.

TMZ cites sources who say that her passing could have been prevented, and that officials believe her condition was treatable if she had been taken to the hospital earlier on. The site also reports that the drugs in her system include prescriptions for cramps and over-the-counter meds like cough syrup.
Brittany passed away in December and was found in the shower at her home by her mother. She is also survived by husband Simon Monjack.
