Carrie Underwood is the original small town girl with a big dream. Prior to her daring step to audition for American Idol, Carrie had not even traveled outside her state of Oklahoma. In 2004, she was the winner of American Idol and became a Grammy winner in just two short years. The nobody girl soon out beat country’s leading stars. With her first album, Carrie won awards over Faith Hill, who supposedly screamed “What?” backstage when she didn't win. Carrie recently married hockey player Mike Fisher. Carrie has been named the first female Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the year for two consecutive years.
