Casey Kasem Dead at 82

After a long battle with Lowry body disease, a progressive form of Dementia, Casey Kasem has died at the age of 82.
The legendary radio personality was a staple in American homes for decades, co-creating and hosting the music countdown programs American Top 40, American Top 20 and American Top 10, and voicing several characters on popular animated shows including Batman, Scooby-Doo, Josie and the Pussycats and more.

In recent months, Casey had been at the center of a bitter battle between his wife of 34 years, Jean Kasem, and his adult children, who accused Jean of elder abuse. His daughter Kerri was eventually granted conservatorship in May, and he received care in Washington state until his death.
