Cheryl Cole Blasts Simon Cowell for Firing Her From 'The X Factor' in New Book

When Cheryl Cole was hired by Simon Cowell to be judge on The X Factor in 2011 — and promptly fired two weeks later — no one expected there would be no hard feelings. But Cheryl, who now says she is on good terms with Simon, was perhaps more hurt and angry than anyone knew — and she's letting it all be known in her new book, Cheryl: My Story.
What made the situation especially difficult for Cheryl was that the man with whom she worked with on the U.K. version of The X Factor since 2008 did not tell her personally the job was no longer hers.
In excerpt from the book published in The Sun, Cheryl says she told her manager, "I can’t get over the fact that ‘big man’ Simon, the same guy that told me I had the job and told me ‘don’t wear that hair’ couldn’t tell me I didn’t have the job! The coward didn’t even have the guts to phone or send a message warning me what was coming."

She then sent a not-exactly-printable message to Simon himself, which involved a lot of choice words.
"I wrote the longest text ever. I apologize about the bad language, but this is how he made me feel," she said. You can read read it partially at RadarOnline.com.

Cheryl says Simon has since called her firing "the worst mistake" he has ever made.
We wonder then, if Cheryl felt somewhat vindicated when the first U.S. season of The X Factor wasn't exactly the hit Simon imagined. Of course, the judges have been shuffled once again, with Britney Spears and Demi Lovato holding court where Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul once did.
