Cynthia Nixon to Star in First Broadway Production of 'Wit'

Cynthia Nixon is making her way back to Broadway! The Sex and the City is set to star in Wit.

On Wednesday the Manhattan Theater Club announced that Cynthia will play Professor Vivian Bearing in the first Broadway production of Wit, The New York Times reports.
The Margaret Edson play tells the story of an English professor who specializes in poetry who is battling stage-four ovarian cancer. Wit was a popular Off-Broadway hit in the late 1990s and will now be making its premiere on Broadway.

Cynthia has spoken publicly before about her own personal battle with breast cancer in 2006.

The show is scheduled to open Jan. 26 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theater.
