'Dancing with the Stars' Costume Designer Dishes on Body Types

As Dancing with the Stars premieres tonight with Kendra Wilkinson, Wendy Williams and Ralph Macchio hitting the dance floor along with their cast mates, one thing's for certain. Randall Christensen, the show's costume designer, says after a while the dancers not only whittle away their bodies but their costumes, too!

Randall told the Daily News that stars like Wendy and Kirstie Alley end up revealing more and more skin as the season goes on. "What I've found is that when the bodies are getting more and more toned, they're having the time of their life. They're so proud of their bodies that they want to show more."

Plus, he says the producers like to push the envelope, "push the spareness, the bareness." If anything, he says, the hardest part is when stars start the show ready to bare it all.

"I think the toughest thing is when the celebrities have an opinion of what they think their body looks like," he said. "That's the tough part because a lot of times they really think they're in better shape or a lot more toned than they are."
