Video from NBC in Washington, D.C. today shows police approaching a row of protesters seated and singing, and gesturing to Daryl to stand up and be restrained while her fellow protesters cheer for her.
"Sometimes it's necessary to sacrifice your freedom for a greater freedom," Daryl said before her arrest. "And we want to be free from the horrible death and destruction that fossil fuels cause, and have a clean energy future."
According to the report, Daryl and other protesters — 100 of which were also arrested — refused to move three times, which led to her arrest. The planned Keystone pipeline will run from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico.
