David Blaine Performs in Times Square to Help Haiti
Jan. 15 2010, Published 6:19 a.m. ET
Hollywood Haiti outreach continues to grow across the country. David Blaine hopes to touch down some magical miracles on the devastated country by performing street magic for 72 hours non-stop, starting today at West 43rd Street and Broadway in Times Square.
The magician is collaborating with the Red Cross to raise funds for earthquake victims.
David shot a TV special in Haiti in 1999, so the cause holds extra meaning for him, and he is encouraging New Yorkers to show support by donating to the Red Cross.
Wyclef Jean's foundation Yele Haiti has collaborated with Give On The Go — who launched its text messaging donation campaign — is on track to raise $1 million a day to help Haiti.
